I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and psychotherapist. I believe that people are resilient and have great capacity for healing, change, and kindness. I also recognize that sometimes people find themselves paralyzed by anger and pain; when we’re stuck, it’s hard to cultivate and maintain meaningful connection with the people around us. Regardless of the circumstances that lead people to therapy, it takes courage and strength to recognize something's not right and to want to move forward.
I have worked in a number of different capacities including international relief and development, emergency trauma and disaster work and outpatient mental health. My areas of expertise and special interest include:
First and Second Generation Issues
Grief and Loss
Perinatal Mental Health and Mood Disorders
Parenting and Family Conflict
I use a variety of interventions that are individually tailored to each client. I am flexible, creative and will work with you to develop a plan for reaching your goals. Clients appreciate my direct yet relaxed and supportive style. I blend years of varied experience, warmth, a sense of humor and curiosity into each session.
I received my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and my Bachelors of Science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
I am also a CrossFit trainer and Certified BirthFit Coach. Through these complementary disciplines I am able to provide integrative mind-body and body-based interventions to interested clients.
I have worked for a number of organizations including Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Massachusetts General Hospital, DOVE, Jhpiego, the International Health Affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, and World Relief - Cambodia .
